The Big Sky Owners Association is the largest and oldest homeowners association in Big Sky, Montana. Commonly called BSOA, the Big Sky Owners Association includes roughly 2,300 properties spread across 8,000 acres in both Gallatin and Madison Counties.

The mission of the Big Sky Owners Association is "to preserve, protect and enhance property values." Their "primary function is to maintain common areas and govern the homeowner community." If you are interested in real estate in Big Sky, it's good to know about the BSOA.

The Big Sky Owners Association was originally created in 1971 with just 3 subdivisions. Today, BSOA manages single family homes, condos, parks, tracts of lands, and more. You can see a full list of properties here. Or view a historical timeline of the BSOA here.

The organization is managed by an elected Board of Directors and is supported by staff.  Every BSOA property owner is assessed dues annually. These dues are used to "provide public services and community support, including winter road maintenance, street lights, speed control, road signs, weed and pest control, open space maintenance, architectural review and landscape design and management of compliance issues within the BSOA jurisdiction as they pertain to the governing documents" (BigSkyMT.org).
